Turkish merchant bar prices have increased by TRY 300-430/mt ($10-21/mt) against the backdrop of currency fluctuations and the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment. This week, demand is lower due to the rapid currency fluctuations, and most buyers are waiting to gain a clearer picture of the raw material segment.
Turkish merchant bar re-rollers are mainly offering for April-May delivery or are offering limited tonnages available from stocks. An Izmir-based mill is offering its HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) at $970/mt ex-works for delivery in the same period.
