Merchant bar prices generally decline in the Iranian market
Merchant bar prices have generally been declining in the last three weeks in Iran, following a rapidly rising trend in early June. U-beam and angle prices have come down more than I-beam prices, while some sizes of I-beam have even indicated price increases in the last few weeks in Iran. I-beam in Iran is mainly produced by Esfahan Steel, while a few other small mills have entered the market recently but they just produce small sizes of I-beam. Meanwhile, local market demand for I-beam usually exceeds supply and this is why local traders can hike I-beam prices so much while there is a declining trend in the overall merchant bar market (I-beam, angles, etc.).
