During the past two weeks, Turkish mills’ wire rod export offers have decreased by $7.5/mt to $505-510/mt FOB. Having filled their order books for June and July, some Turkish mills are heard to be offering prices slightly higher than the $510/mt FOB level. Turkish mills’ order books for wire rod are heard to be fuller than their rebar order books. Meanwhile, SteelOrbis has been informed that foreign buyers’ firm bids for Turkish wire rod are in the range of $495-500/mt FOB.

Turkey’s wire rod export offers to Israel, which is another important wire rod export market for Turkey, have decreased by $12.5/mt over the past two weeks to $530-535/mt CIF LO. SteelOrbis has been informed that Israeli buyers are exerting pressure on Turkish suppliers to lower their offers.

On the other hand, price inquiries for Turkish wire rod exports are mainly received from West Africa, South America and particularly from Tunisia in North Africa.
