Today, September 10, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 10/mt with minor changes on US dollar basis. Only in the Karabuk region have rebar prices remained unchanged. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar prices in the overall local Turkish spot market have settled at TRY 4,040-4,070/mt ($460-463/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions are currently offering rebar at TRY 4,050-4,100/mt ($460-466/mt) ex-works. Sources report that 5,000-10,000 mt of rebar were traded in the Izmir region at TRY 4,050/mt ($460/mt) ex-works on Tuesday this week.
In the Iskenderun region, most mills have opened their rebar sales at TRY 4,100/mt ($466/mt) today, stable compared to the beginning of the week.
In the Karabuk region, Yesilyurt A.S. has kept its rebar price at TRY 4,130/mt ($469/mt) ex-works over the same period.
Sources report that most buyers are refraining from new purchases after the rapid price increase. In addition, some local traders have started destocking their rebar bought at previous prices.
