SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that local producers' price levels in the Turkish domestic market for 6-7 mm mesh quality wire rod are as follows:

The above prices, which are on actual weight basis, exclude VAT and are on ex-works basis. The offers may differ depending on buyers and order sizes.

Despite the weakness of demand in the local Turkish wire rod market, domestic wire rod prices have remained stable over the past week supported by the tightness of domestic supply caused by Turkish mills' decent export sales volumes for April and May output, and also supported by the lack of any significant price fall in the local Turkish billet market.

Buyers in the domestic wire rod market have become reluctant to conclude purchases after the sharp decrease recorded in Chinese finished and semi-finished steel export prices, while market sources believe the downward movement in the global market caused by China will put pressure on domestic wire rod quotations in Turkey.
