Today, February 12, Turkish wire rod producers have increased their domestic list prices by $15-40/mt compared to Tuesday, February 9, amid stronger scrap prices. According to sources, one mill in the Iskenderun region is fully booked for March delivery and is not eager to quote for April delivery. In addition, another Iskenderun-based mill has closed its wire rod sales until Monday, February 15. Most Turkish mills are offering wire rod for April delivery, while a few mills have recently started offering for early May delivery. “Demand is livelier in terms of the end product (welded wire mesh) sales due to the slow movement in the construction sector,” a source mentioned.
