Local Turkish wire rod prices decline, further revisions expected

Today, January 19, Turkish domestic wire rod prices have decreased by $5-15/mt over the past week amid currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. In addition, the downturn seen in the import scrap market has negatively affected the mood among buyers. Moreover, further price declines for wire rod are expected shortly, SteelOrbis understands.

Most mills are still offering for late March delivery, with a few mills offering either from stocks or for earlier delivery for some specific sizes. Sources report size availability remains an issue, which creates challenges for some welded wire mesh producers to meet demand from their customers.
