Some Turkish suppliers are attempting to keep their official wire rod prices stable to offset currency fluctuations and higher production costs, specifically energy costs, while a few mills have already revised their wire rod prices in line witht the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment.

One Iskenderun-based mill has cut its wire rod price by $10/mt to $800/mt ex-works today. Special discounts are applicable for serious buyers amid the unclear financial situation in the country.

Most suppliers are still quoting for January-early February delivery, while a limited tonnage is available for late December delivery.
