Today, June 30, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 300-600/mt ($12-28/mt) amid positive sentiment in the import scrap segment and livelier demand following Icdas’s recent price hike. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 12,700-13,000/mt or $644-660/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most mills in the Marmara and Izmir regions are currently offering rebar at $640-650/mt ex-works.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy has opened its rebar sales at TRY 13,200/mt ($670/mt) ex-works today. Demand is relatively livelier ahead of the holiday season and some local traders are attempting to restock material in case a lack of supply may occur in the local market due to the ongoing tax investigations.
