Today, December 11, rebar spot prices in Turkey have risen by TRY 180-240/mt ($18-24/mt) amid costlier scrap prices and currency fluctuations. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled within the range of TRY 5,480-5,570/mt or $589-598/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Icdas has closed its longs price today. Sources report $590/mt ex-works was being voiced in the Marmara region earlier today. In addition, a small tonnage of rebar has traded at $580/mt ex-works in the Izmir region earlier on the same day. Most Turkish mills are waiting until Monday to gain a clearer picture regarding import scrap prices and currency fluctuations.
