Today, January 4, spot prices in the local Turkish rebar market have been moved sideways on lira basis, with minor changes on US dollar basis due to currency fluctuations, as compared to Wednesday, December 30. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have remained unchanged at TRY 5,500-5,600/mt or $632-644/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its rebar price at TRY 5,610/mt ($645/mt) ex-works. Most mills in the Marmara region are currently offering rebar at TRY 5,655-5,740/mt ($650-660/mt) ex-works.
Most Izmir-based mills are offering rebar at TRY 5,565-5,610/mt ($640-645/mt) ex-works.
In the Karabuk region, Yobulan A.S. is currently offering rebar at TRY 5,660/mt ($651/mt) ex-works, while Samsun-based Yesilyurt A.S.’s rebar sales are still closed.
The local Turkish rebar market has made a quiet start to the year, as most buyers are on hold for new purchases for now in order to gain a better understanding of the import scrap segment.
