Today, December 25, spot prices in the local Turkish rebar market have dropped by TRY 50/mt in Iskenderun, while increasing by TRY 20/mt in the Marmara region, with minor changes on US dollar basis due to the currency fluctuations. In the rest of the regions, prices have remained unchanged in the local currency, but decreased by $1/mt over the day. As of today, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 5,600-5,700/mt or $626-637/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Some traders in the Iskenderun have started to offer special discounts to generate cash flow due to the approach of the end of the year.
In Samsun, Yesilyurt A.S. has kept its rebar prices at TRY 5,850/mt ($654/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 50/mt in local currency, while it is $5/mt over the day.
Most mills in Turkey are expected to open their new prices on Monday, December 28.
