Rebar spot prices have decreased in Turkey by TRY 8-17/mt due to sluggish demand and the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. In the Iskenderun region, however, prices have moved sideways for now, even though trading activity is reported to be rather weak. However, some discounts are possible for serious buyers.
Today, January 13, Turkish mill Icdas has decreased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 59/mt ($9/mt) to TRY 2,644/mt ($451/mt) ex-works. Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has set its rebar offers at the same level, down TRY 25/mt ($3/mt) over the past week. Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
