Rebar spot prices in the local Turkish market have increased by TRY 8-17/mt as of today, January 14, as compared to yesterday, due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. However, market sources indicate that rebar spot prices have moved sideways in the Izmir region and that a deal for approximately 1,000-2,000 mt was concluded in the region at TRY 2,593/mt, excluding VAT.
Today, Turkish mills Icdas and Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has kept their rebar prices stable at TRY 2,644/mt ($450/mt). Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
