Today, May 28, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have mostly remained stable, with just a drop of TRY 10/mt seen in prices in the Iskenderun region due to low trading activity. Traders’ rebar prices are at TRY 3,240-3,290/mt ($405-411/mt) ex-warehouse depending on the region.
In the Marmara region, two mills’ 12 mm rebar prices have remained mostly unchanged on US dollar basis with just minor changes on Turkish lira basis and are currently at TRY 3,250-3,280/mt ($406-410/mt) ex-works.
Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has kept its official rebar price at TRY 3,300/mt ($412/mt) ex-works, with the dollar price down by $1/mt today. Another mill in the Izmir region has been offering rebar at TRY 3,280/mt ($410/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 5/mt on Turkish lira basis while remaining stable on US dollar basis. Sources report good discounts are granted to serious buyers. Today, Kardemir opened its rebar sales at TRY 3,260.34 ($408/mt) ex-works, with only minor lots traded by the time of publication, SteelOrbis has learned.
