Local Turkish rebar spot prices increase slightly

Today, August 5, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 10-30/mt, with minor changes in prices on US dollar basis. As a result, 12 mm rebar prices in the Turkish spot market have settled in the range of TRY 3,670-3,690/mt ($442-444/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region.

Icdas has kept its rebar prices at TRY 3,700/mt ($445/mt) ex-works, with its dollar price down $5/mt today. In addition, most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar at TRY 3,720 ($448/mt) ex-works.

The rebar price of Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has increased by TRY 50/mt today in the local currency to TRY 3,700/mt ($445mt) ex-works, with the dollar price rising only by $1/mt. Another mill in this region is currently offering rebar at TRY 3,697/mt ($445/mt) ex-works. Sources report that a small lot of rebar have been traded in the Izmir region at TRY 3,650/mt ($439/mt) ex-works as of today.

Today in the morning, Koc Metallurgy opened its 12 mm rebar sales at TRY 3,700/mt ($445/mt), increasing by TRY 40/mt. Bastug A.S. has announced its rebar sales at TRY 3,700/mt ($445/mt) ex-works, also up by TRY 40/mt earlier today, while it closed its sales after a couple of hours. One Iskenderun-based re-roller opened its 12mm rebar sales today at TRY 3,700/mt($445/mt) ex-works up by TRY 20/mt.
