While demand in the local Turkish rebar market is still at low levels, domestic rebar prices in Turkey have increased slightly today, July 24, due to the Turkish lira losing strength against the US dollar. SteelOrbis has been informed that buyers are still exerting pressure on prices and that discounts on list prices for serious buyers are available.
Today, July 24, Turkish mill Izmir Demir Celik has increased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 25/mt to TRY 2,695/mt ($472/mt) ex-works, while Icdas has increased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 20/mt to TRY 2,720/mt ($476/mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT.
SteelOrbis has also been informed that, having opened it rebar sales yesterday, July 23, Turkish mill Kardemir has concluded sales for about 21,500 mt of rebar as of today.
