Domestic rebar spot offers in lira terms have again moved up in most of the regions of Turkey, following the price hike local producer Icdas announced this morning. The producer’s offers have risen by TRY 120/mt ($14/mt) to TRY 3,320/mt ($415/mt) ex-works since April 6. Some other mills in the Marmara region have been offering at TRY 3,280/mt ($410/mt) ex-works, having increased prices by TRY 29/mt today, April 8, in order to offset currency fluctuations.
In the Iskenderun region, Koc Metalurji has raised its rebar offers by TRY 50/mt ($2/mt) to TRY 3,300/mt ($412/mt) ex-works. Bastug Metalurji has closed its rebar sales as of today.
In Izmir, traders’ prices have increased more compared to other parts of Turkey as local product availability is said to be limited. One of the mills in the area sold 13,000 mt at TRY 3,240/mt ($405/mt) ex-works recently, while another has postponed rebar shipments until the end of April.
As of today, rebar offers in the Turkish spot market are as follows:
