Today, April 1, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices for 12 mm products have increased by TRY 50-90/mt on Turkish lira basis to TRY 2,950-3,000 /mt ex-warehouse or have changed by $-5/+1/mt on US dollar basis, amid currency fluctuations, both compared to Monday, March 30. Sources report that some local traders believe that rebar spot prices have hit bottom levels and that lack of rebar supply may lead to positive sentiment in the market and so they have started to restock.
Today, Turkish mill Icdas has kept its 12-32 mm rebar price at TRY 3,040/mt ($386/mt) ex-works. Sources report one Izmir based-mill sold approximately 20,000 mt at TRY 2,890/mt ex-works yesterday, (equal to $367/mt at today’s exchange rate). Moreover, some Marmara-based mills are currently offering 12 mm rebar at TRY 2,995/mt-3,035/mt ($380-385/mt) ex-works.
