Today, July 1, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have risen by another TRY 500-600/mt ($23-29/mt) amid the positive sentiment in the import segment and currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 13,300-13,600/mt or $673-688/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Most Turkish mills have either increased their rebar prices gradually or closed their rebar sales as the week draws to a close. Today, most Marmara-based mills started quoting their rebar prices at $670/mt ex-works and increased their rebar prices by $10-15/mt during the day. Also, Icdas has increased its rebar price by another $10/mt to $680/mt ex-works in the afternoon. As a result, rebar prices in the Marmara region have settled at $680-685/mt ex-works, while one mill in this region has closed its rebar sales for now.
In the Izmir region, rebar prices vary at $660-680/mt ex-works today and are expected to be revised by the beginning of next week.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug Metallurgy has increased its rebar prices by TRY 400/mt ($18/mt) to TRY 13,600/mt ($688/mt) ex-works today.
