Today, November 26, rebar spot prices in Turkey have risen by another TRY 10-40/mt ($7-10/mt) over the day due to the positive sentiment in the import scrap segment and currency fluctuations. As a result, 12 mm rebar spot prices have settled within the range of TRY 4,820-4,880/mt or $518-524/mt ex-warehouse depending on the region.
Most Marmara-based mills are currently offering rebar at TRY 4,935-4,980/mt ($530-535/mt) ex-works.
One Izmir-based mill is currently offering rebar at TRY 4,840/mt ($520/mt) ex-works and Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has closed its rebar sales, which it opened at TRY 4,795/mt ($515/mt) ex-works, by noon. According to market sources, yesterday, approximately 30,000 mt of rebar has traded in Izmir at TRY 4,795/mt ($515/mt) ex-works.
Karabuk-based Yolbulan has kept its rebar sales at TRY 4,940/mt ($531/mt) ex-works today. The producer’s price is stable in Turkish lira basis and up by $6/mt over the day.
Samsun-based Yesilyurt has announced its rebar sales at TRY 4,940/mt ($531/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 30/mt ($10/mt) over the day.
Turkish mills are expected to revise their prices in line with the stronger scrap in the short term.
