Local Turkish rebar spot prices have increased further by TRY 17/mt compared to yesterday, December 9 - excluding the Iskenderun region - in line with the rises recorded in import scrap segment. Since most mills in Turkey’s Iskenderun region have closed their rebar sales for two to six days citing the strong trend of import scrap quotations, spot rebar prices in Iskenderun have remained unchanged. SteelOrbis has continued to hear discounts of TRY 20-40/mt from mills for serious buyers in most regions of the country, amid efforts to stimulate sales.
Today, December 10, Turkish mill Icdas has increased its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 9/mt ($1/mt) to TRY 2,585/mt ($445/mt) ex-works, while Izmir Demir Celik has also raised its 12-32 mm rebar prices by TRY 42/mt ($6/mt) to TRY 2,627/mt ($452 mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT.
