Today, September 18, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by TRY 10-30/mt, with minor changes on US dollar basis, to offset currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar prices in the overall local Turkish spot market have settled at TRY 4,040-4,080/mt ($452-457/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its official rebar price at TRY 4,120/mt ($461/mt) ex-works, with its price on US dollar basis down by $2/mt today. Moreover, most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions have their rebar prices at TRY 4,100/mt ($459/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 10/mt in liras, while down by $1/mt on dollar basis. Approximately 5,000-10,000 mt of rebar has been traded today in the Izmir region at TRY 4,070/mt ($457/mt) ex-works. Market players are expected to see a clearer picture by next week.
