Today, September 22, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have increased by another TRY 20-30/mt, with minor changes on US dollar basis, to offset currency fluctuations once again. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar prices in the overall local Turkish spot market have settled at TRY 4,080-4,110/mt ($452-455/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has increased its official rebar price by another TRY 40/mt to TRY 4,170/mt ($463/mt) ex-works, with its price on US dollar basis even up by $2/mt compared to this morning.
In the Izmir region, Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has not announced any rebar price today.
In the Iskenderun region, Bastug A.S. closed its rebar sales yesterday afternoon. Koc Metallurgy is offering rebar at TRY 4,150/mt ($460/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 30/mt ($2/mt) today.
In the Karabuk region, Yesilyurt A.S. has also increased its rebar price by TRY 30/mt ($3/mt) and is currently offering rebar at TRY 4,170/mt ($463/mt) ex-works.
Most rebar buyers are postponing their purchases in order to gain a better understanding of the situation in the import scrap segment.
