Today, August 31, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by TRY 20-100/mt with minor changes on US dollar basis, compared to end of last week, amid the weaker demand against the backdrop of currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey have settled at TRY 6,470-6,600/mt or $658-671/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Today, İcdas A.S. has opened its official rebar sales at $680/mt ex-works. In addition, one Marmara-based mill has opened its rebar price at $675/mt ex-works today.
A steelmaker in Izmir is currently offering its official rebar price at $660/mt ex-works. Sources report additional $5-10/mt discounts are applicable for serious buyers.
“The general rebar price range in the Iskenderun region is around TRY 6,550-6,650 ($666-677/mt) ex-works/ex-warehouse for now. Some local traders in the region are monitoring the stronger US dollar in order to restock” one source mentioned.
