Today, November 20, rebar spot prices in all regions of Turkey have decreased due to the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar and sluggish demand. Market sources indicate that, although local buyers’ inventories are at low-to-medium levels, they have adopted a wait-and-see stance as regards new purchases as a precaution against a further fall in rebar spot prices.
Today, Turkish mill Icdas has kept its 12-32 mm rebar prices at TRY 2,492/mt ($438/mt) ex-works prices, while Izmir Demir Celik has also kept its 12-32 mm rebar prices at 2,458/mt ($432 mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT. Meanwhile, market sources report that Turkish rebar mills are offering discounts of TRY 20-40/mt (including VAT) for serious buyers.
