Today, September 16, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have dropped by another TRY 20-40/mt ($3-6/mt). Accordingly, 12 mm rebar prices in the overall local Turkish spot market have settled at TRY 3,980-4,010/mt ($450-453/mt) ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
Icdas has kept its official rebar price at TRY 4,100/mt ($463/mt) ex-works today, down by $1/mt on US dollar basis. Moreover, most mills in the Izmir and Marmara regions have kept their rebar prices at TRY 4,071-4,100/mt ($460-463/mt) ex-works, stable on US dollar basis with minor changes in Turkish liras. Special discounts are available for serious buyers.
The local rebar market seems quiet in terms of new sales. The general sentiment in the rebar market is negative due to expectations of a possible correction in the import scrap sector.
