Turkish domestic spot rebar prices in the local currency have decreased today, March 25, by TRY 20-80/mt to TRY 2,940-3,000/mt ex-warehouse for 12 mm products, with just a minor change in US dollar prices. Sources report that some local traders in the Iskenderun region are even offering TRY 2,900/mt ($384/mt) ex-warehouse as of today.
Turkish mill Icdas has decreased its 12-32 mm rebar price by TRY 40/mt to TRY 3,120/mt ($413/mt) ex-works. Izmir Demir Celik has decreased its rebar price by TRY 60/mt to TRY 3,100/mt ($411/mt) ex-works. Some Marmara-based mills are currently offering 12 mm rebar at around TRY 2,983-3,021/mt ($395-400/mt) ex-works.
SteelOrbis has heard one Iskenderun-based mill is carrying out maintenance works this week and next week and is keeping its rebar production at minimal levels. Turkish companies are expected to plan their maintenance works in line with steel demand and developments in the import scrap segment.
