Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have moved down by TRY 40/mt since Monday February 24, due to sluggish demand. The Turkish lira-based prices for 12 mm rebar have been decreased by TRY 40/mt in all regions and set at TRY 3,180-3,230/mt, while the US dollar-denominated price levels have declined by $5-6/mt to $439-446/mt, both ex-warehouse.
Most local mills’ prices are in the range of TRY 3,250-3,300/mt ex-works, or at $449-455/mt ex-works on US dollar basis at today’s exchange rate. Specifically, Turkish mills Icdas and Izmir Demir Celik represent the lower end of the range, while the higher end is being offered by some Marmara region-based mils. Market sources indicate that special discounts may be available for serious buyers.
