Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have decreased by another TRY 20/mt today, February 27, due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar. Market sources indicate that some traders are giving discounts to serious buyers in order to destock and to maintain their cash flow as the month ends.
Moreover, some local mills in the Marmara region have decreased their sales prices by TRY 30/mt to TRY 3,250-3,270/mt ex-works, down by $2-5 on US dollar basis to $447-450/mt ex-works. While Turkish mills’ official rebar prices are stable, special discounts may be available for serious buyers, as SteelOrbis has learned.
