Trading activity in the local Turkish rebar spot market has remained weak today, January 24, due to the downtrend in the import scrap segment, market sources report. On the other hand, some sources say that rebar prices of some re-rollers based in Turkey’s Iskenderun region have declined to $425/mt ex-works on dollar basis. “Local rebar demand is almost nil”, a source said.
Today, Turkish mill Icdas has kept its 12-32 mm rebar offers unchanged at TRY 3,120/mt, while Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has kept its 12-32 mm rebar offers stable at TRY 3,050/mt ex-works. Additionally, İcdas’ price on dollar basis is at $446/mt ex-works, while IDC’s price in dollars is at $436/mt ex-works.
