Local Turkish rebar market remains stable

Today, April 4, domestic rebar prices in Turkey have remained stable compared to yesterday at TRY 2,780-2,814/mt ($492-498/mt) ex-warehouse. Market sources state that some Turkish mills have kept their domestic rebar prices stable on Turkish lira basis, though allowing their prices to decrease slightly on US dollar basis due to the long-standing weakness of demand and the ongoing fluctuations in the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate. However, buyers in the local Turkish rebar market have maintained their cautious stance amid the weakness of the lira and the ongoing uncertainties regarding the results of the local election held on March 31, and so trading activity in the market has remained at low levels.
