Domestic rebar prices in Turkey have declined by TRY 20-30/mt compared to the price levels recorded on April 17. Buyers are still concluding deals for domestic rebar only in line with their immediate needs, while they are postponing their purchases of larger tonnages in expectation of a further decrease in domestic rebar quotations as a result of the reductions seen in Chinese finished steel export prices. In addition to the ongoing weakness of demand, the appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar has also contributed to the downward movement of domestic rebar quotations in Turkey.
