Demand in the local Turkish rebar market made a quiet start to the current week, while domestic rebar prices moved on a soft trend until mid-week. However, in the latter part of the week the Turkish lira has depreciated against the US dollar and yesterday, March 29, a new ex-US scrap deal was heard in Turkey concluded at a higher price level compared to the previous one. Also, demand has improved slightly compared to the beginning of the current week. As a result, traders in the local Turkish rebar market have increased their domestic rebar offers. In some regions, domestic rebar prices have returned to their previous levels recorded at the beginning of this week, while in other regions quotations have increased by TRY 20-30/mt compared to price levels seen on March 27.
