Having made a downward start to the current week due to pressure resulting from the weakness of demand, the local Turkish rebar market has continued its downward trend during the rest of the week. Trading activity in the local Turkish rebar market is observed to be weak, while purchases are still made only in line with needs. Although the Turkish lira has compensated for some of its losses against the US dollar, the ongoing volatility of the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate is still giving rise to apprehension amongst buyers. Meanwhile, domestic rebar prices in Turkey have fallen by TRY 59-119/mt since the beginning of the current week.
