Domestic rebar spot prices in Turkey have decreased by another TRY 10-30/mt today, March 20, with 12 mm rebar sales prices set at TRY 3,070-3,140/mt ex-warehouse, with prices on US dollar basis down another $2-5/mt as the week ends. The main reason is the impact of the coronavirus on demand and the negative sentiment in the import scrap segment.
No fresh rebar sales have been heard today. Most local traders are giving good discounts to generate sales, SteelOrbis has heard. Local Turkish rebar spot prices are expected to gain more clarity next week.
