Over the past week, Turkish domestic official merchant bar prices have risen by TRY 230-570/mt ($13-30/mt) amid currency fluctuations and costlier import scrap. One Iskenderun-based mill has raised its merchant bar list prices by $30/mt to $755/mt ex-works over the same period.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering for February delivery and only limited tonnages are available from stocks. A few re-rollers are officially offering HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) at $950/mt ex-works for now.
Most merchant bar buyers are monitoring import scrap and billet prices trend and purchasing only in line with their daily needs.
