Turkish domestic merchant bar list prices have decreased by TRY 490-500/mt ($39-40/mt) over the past two weeks, continuing the general downturn seen in the market previously.
One Marmara-based mill is currently offering HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) at around $785-790/mt ex-works today. Most re-rollers are mainly offering for April delivery, while a few re-rollers are continuing to offer limited tonnages either from stocks or for end-of-March delivery.
Most buyers are purchasing small tonnages for their daily needs. However, the latest import scrap deals have shown some rebound, which may have a positive effect on finished steel prices in Turkey.
