In the past two weeks, local Turkish merchant bar prices have increased by TRY 200-400/mt in the local currency, while they have risen by $62-87/mt on US dollar basis, amid stronger billet and scrap prices supported by currency fluctuations in the same period.
A few re-rollers are today offering HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) at around $780-805/mt ex-works, except for Kardemir, SteelOrbis has learned.
Merchant bar buyers are on hold for new purchases due to the holiday season. Most re-rollers are offering for late March-early April delivery, while a few re-rollers are offering some sizes from stocks.
