Turkish domestic merchant bar prices have been hiked by $11-20/mt over the past two weeks due to stronger scrap prices and currency fluctuations. In addition, a few re-rollers which are currently focusing more on their export order deliveries have closed their merchant bar sales ahead of the Feast of Sacrifice holiday.
“Last week demand was better. Some buyers are on hold for new purchases, to gain a clearer picture after the holiday,” one source is mentioned.
