Turkish mills’ domestic merchant bar offers have moved down by TRY 40/mt over the past week to TRY 3,000-3,290/mt ($511-560/mt) ex-works, excluding 18 percent VAT. This decrease in domestic merchant bar prices is a result of slightly lower scrap quotations, economic instability and weak demand conditions in Turkey. SteelOrbis has been informed that buyers have a strong advantage in purchase negotiations amid these weak demand conditions.
