It is observed that demand in the local Turkish billet market has weakened over the past week. The uptrend of import scrap prices in Turkey which came to a halt last week has increased Turkish mills’ production costs. Also, the supply volume in the local Turkish billet market has decreased due to ongoing low production rates. As a result, domestic billet prices in Turkey have moved up by $20/mt on the lower end and by $15/mt on the upper end week on week to $480-490/mt ex-works. SteelOrbis has been informed that buyers consider this range to be on the high side.
