SteelOrbis has been informed that domestic billet prices in Turkey have continued their downtrend over the past week, declining by $5/mt week on week to $475-480/mt ex-works. Long steel demand in Turkey is at low levels due to the ongoing volatility of the Turkish lira-US dollar exchange rate, which has caused market players to remain cautious. This has prevented demand in the local Turkish billet market from reviving as rolling mills’ domestic billet purchases have slowed down.
