Today, July 1, Turkish domestic rebar spot prices have remained unchanged in the local currency with just minor changes on US dollar basis, due to the weak demand ahead of the holidays and due to currency fluctuations. Accordingly, 12 mm rebar spot prices in Turkey are now at TRY 7,120-7,250/mt or $694-707/mt ex-warehouse, depending on the region.
The general official rebar price range in Turkey is currently standing at $710-720/mt ex-works at the current exchange rate today. Sources report around 20,000 mt of rebar were traded in the Izmir region at TRY 7,180/mt ($700/mt) ex-works yesterday.
The general sentiment in the local market is negative and most local traders are in wait-and-see mode ahead of the Feast of Sacrifice holiday.
