Market sources state that the influence of Ramadan is felt in the local Turkish wire rod market as trading activity is slow and buyers continue to conclude purchases only in line with their needs. On the other hand, tightness of wire rod supply is still experienced in the local Turkish market, and so domestic wire rod prices have moved sideways over the past week. Additionally, SteelOrbis has been informed that steel mills are offering volume discounts of $5-10/mt, depending on buyer and tonnage, to stimulate their sales.
