Turkey’s integrated mill Kardemir has announced its 150 mm x 150 mm billet sales, setting its prices for regular grades at somewhat lower levels than had been expected by the local market, especially taking into account the upward trend of scrap prices. As a result, the supplier’s offer has triggered significant demand.

Kardemir has cut its billet offer prices by TRY 110/mt ($4-5/mt) from May 13 to TRY 2,490/mt ($367/mt) ex-works for S235JR grade, while its S420-B420 (formerly III-A) grade billet is available at TRY 2,520/mt ($372/mt) ex-works.

By the time of publication, Kardemir has closed its sales after selling 100,000 mt of billet.

Prices exclude 18 percent VAT.
