SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that Italian and Spanish rebar export offers are standing at €480-490/mt ($641-655/mt) FOB and €485-495/mt ($648-661/mt) FOB respectively, while rebar offers from these two countries to Algeria are at €510-515/mt ($681-688/mt) CFR, all for February shipments.
Rebar offers from southern Europe are not found to be attractive in the export markets where European mills are competing with their Turkish counterparts, as the euro has strengthened against the US dollar in the past week. Currently, buyers in North Africa state that southern European mills' rebar offers are not acceptable under current market conditions.
