Good demand for ex-Turkey steel mesh

6 mm steel mesh prices in the Turkish domestic market are now standing at TRY 1,250-1,270/mt ($641-651/mt) ex-works, excluding VAT, indicating an increase of TRY 20/mt ($10/mt). Meanwhile, upward movement of wire rod prices amid increased scrap quotations and the further strengthening of the US dollar against Turkish lira has been reflected in steel mesh offers, while market sources state that the recent increase in activity has been replaced by sluggishness, with buyers starting to adopt a wait-and-see stance.

Turkish steel mesh export offers, on the other hand, can be found at $655-660/mt FOB, while these offers have succeeded in attracting good interest, especially in Georgia and Turkmenistan.
