The reference price for the export of rebar by Brazilian producers to South American countries is $590/mt, against $580/mt last week, CFR conditions for the CA-50 grade, a local market source told SteelOrbis.

The higher price reflects increased domestic demand, as result of a recovery of the local housing sector, which coupled with still-reduced domestic steel production has resulted in less material available for export, the source added.
