Ex-Turkey wire rod prices move sideways

Despite the fall in import scrap and billet prices and the sluggishness of domestic wire rod demand in Turkey, Turkey’s wire rod export prices have remained stable during the past week, supported by the acceleration of Turkish exporters’ sales to Europe following the European Commission’s decision to impose provisional safeguard measures in the form of an out-of-quota tariff. Accordingly, ex-Turkey wire rod prices are still at $580-590/mt FOB.
